Sitting back and watching it unfold can be fun…

imageI remember dad telling me when I was a ‘young lad’, when I had just got my drivers license, I would drive his car. So, one evening, I went out driving his car and came back late; parked in the driveway and went inside and went to bed… [smiling to myself]

The next day, dad comes up and gets my attention and says, ‘Hey, if you’re going to drive the car that much, you’re going to put gas in it…’ — this is so true.

It’s no wonder parents and grandparents have so much fun in their later years; they get to see everyone making the same mistakes they made— and knowing the end results way ahead of time. [more smiles]

Ethan’s Teacher’s Comments!!! He’s getting big!

Ethan’s school and teachers are wonderful! On the first day, they really made him feel so welcome. His teachers are Ms. Dawn & Ms. Cindy. It is so cute seeing him sitting at the table with all the other kids. Tuesday he got to pick where he wanted to sit, and where does he choose??? The table with all the girls! I asked him if he wanted to sit at the other table, he replied “No, these girls are pretty”! A ladies man already!

Today I received this email from his teacher’s….I was so proud I thought I would share with everyone……

We are so happy that Ethan has made such a wonderful adjustment to school.  We realize how worried you must have been after his kindergarten experience.  He is a sweet, polite young boy and a hard worker.  We have prayed that things would go smoothly for him, and God has answered our prayers!

I would like to share some funny moments with you.  On the very first day of school Ethan was telling us, "I don’t like it when my sister, Brittany, wants to kiss me all the time – yuck!"  The amusing part is that when he saw Brittany at pick up time, he jumped up and yelled, "that’s my Brittany!"

During that first day, another student tapped Ethan on the nose during playtime by accident.  We had the other student apologize and I asked Ethan if he was OK.  he told me, "No, not really….I can’t sniff anymore."

Later on during playtime he came up to me, with big, wide-open eyes and asked, "How’s my eye look?"  I told him that it looked just fine.  His response:  "Is it, like, falling out or anything?"  He is a funny kid without even trying to be!

We look forward to a wonderful year with Ethan and we are so glad that he seems to really be enjoying class.

In His Hands,

Ms. Cindy & Ms. Dawn

WAY TO GO ETHAN!!!

Winter 2010 in Little Elm, Texas

We woke to a Winter Wonderland in Texas today! It was a perfect type of snow, powdery! Ethan and Mommy ran to Walmart to get some gloves and boots, so that we could play! It was cold, but we had a great time! When Larry and Brittany got home, we built a snowman and had a snowball fight!

Snow in Texas…..well sort of….

We had a pleasant surprise on Tuesday afternoon, SNOW! Yes, it does snow here in Texas, but it usually doesn’t last more than a few hours.

Ethan and Brittany went out for a few minutes to play, but that didn’t last long due to the cold (Come to find out, Ethan doesn’t like cold).

But it was cute while it lasted…

Christmas 2009

We celebrated Christmas a little early here since we were going out of town….It was really great of Santa to come to our house a few days early.  We all received some gifts, and enjoyed the morning. Ethan was very happy with his Wii games, Brittany got clothes and other goodies. Larry & I got a few small things since we got our Christmas gift (the Motorola Droid) a week earlier. We had both trees up this year, The Tennessee Vols tree in the Theater Room and our 10ft tree in the Living room.
