October Brings the Cold to Texas

Addison Airport

It’s October now and believe it or not Texas is cooling off. I’ve been riding my bike to work whenever I could and it seems like the Spring and Summer just jumped by.

My commute to work is 20 miles one way and when it’s 50+ degrees in the morning, it’s just a bit more chilly than that on a motorcycle with the wind.

So I think my bike days will be limited during the time it’s cold.

Ethan Brae Henry Jasons DeliEthan has been busy mastering his new WII [white game]- WII Resort. He loves beating daddy in all his games and when I win he’s wondering why I didn’t let him win.. and sometimes I just do.

He’s been busy destroying his body. Bumps, scratches, cuts and my favorite- hurting his hair.

He’s figured out the rules for going outside. So now there’s an argument on the requirements for going out said and why can’t he because he has his shoes, pants, shirt, it’s not cold, the sun is out and sissy is home- it’s a tough argument.

We’re in… our new house!

image The moving started Friday. The UHAUL truck was picked up Friday afternoon and I drove it back to the house. We had a bunch of plastic tubs, so we went ahead and loaded those ourselves.

The movers showed up almost an hour late, but they did a great job. They got all the heavy stuff and put it on the truck in about 45 minutes and then we left for the new house; 8.4 miles away.

They unpacked the furniture and put it in the places Beck needed it; mostly upstairs. And all the tubs were placed in the garage.

We have nothing put together. The garage is a storage nightmare and Beck has a kitchen to rebuild, I’ve fans to mount and many more things to do.

Ethan has already been playing the back yard since the first day; it’s awesome. The yard is huge. Ethan, Britty and I can run around in the back yard, kicking the ball around and playing catch- it’s much better than before… Britty is already back in school; she’s close enough to where she can walk there in about 15 minutes. So, unless it’s raining.. she’s walkin’.

There’s a pond close by. I’m going to see if I can get Ethan to go down there with me to fish. Should be interesting.

I was sad to see my garden go… I didn’t ever get a chance to get any really good tomatoes from it, but it was tryin’. Maybe next year…

Until next time,

The HENRY ‘3 strike rule’ – Chili’s FAILED us – for the last time.

image Beck and I’ve a 3 strike rule. If we go to a restaurant and it’s bad, bad food or we get bad service; it’s a strike against them. If we go back to this place 2 more times and they continue to suck, after the 3 time, we don’t go back again.

We believe in giving a place a chance; everyone/place can have an off day.

So years ago, Beck and I used to go to Chili’s a lot for their chicken crispers. It was the huge strips/pieces of chicken and the honey mustard they had for the platter; it comes with fries and corn too- but anyways.

But I guess we had a bad run and Chili’s failed our 3 strikes rule and this was before Ethan was born, so at that point I was tired of throwing my money at this place when all they did was disappoint us- so we said never again.

Well, recently I’ve been passing this Chili’s on the way to work and was wondering if they had gotten any better.

Yesterday [around 2:30pm], we decided to go eat and I decided to go to Chili’s to give them a try [again]. Welp, they didn’t disappoint me, they’re the same crappy place with the same crappy service and the platter that I liked [past tensed] so well has gotten smaller [while the price has gone up].

We walked in [it wasn’t busy], the host starts off by giving us 4 adult menus, well it’s 3 and a child. Then she goes to seat us at a table with crap [straw wrappers, food, crayons, straws, etc] still under the table. We asked for a booth, there’s several open, but she asks us to go back and wait in the waiting area [erm ok].
